Winners of the The 2008 International Documentary Challenge!
On March 6th, 122 filmmakers from 16 stock and options trading countries set out to make a documentary in 5 days. They were assigned a documentary genre (character study, music, political, etc.) and the theme "Change". On April 26, 2008 the 14 finalists premiered at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival in Toronto.
Twelve of the fourteen finalists made it to the festival and had a great time in Toronto! All of the films were well-received by the audience and the following films emerged as the top award winners:

The International Documentary Challenge is a timed filmmaking competition where filmmaking teams from around the world have just 5 days to make a short documentary film. The 3rd annual took place March 6-10, 2008 with and the finalists premiered at Hot Docs in April 2008! The next Doc Challenge will be held March 5-9, 2009. More details about the event here.
More Screenings!
A screening of the 2008 Doc Challenge films produced in the Portland area will take place on May 7, 2008 at The Hollywood Theatre.
